- THE ROLE -

Working closely with the Systems Manager, the Analyst/Developer (Digital Design and UX) will play a key role in the design, development and delivery of the Library's web presence and associated applications that underpin user-facing library services. This includes editorial control of library content hosted in institutional CMS, front-end design of online interfaces to various library applications and development of solutions to host curated content to deliver a dynamic, engaging UX.

The role holder will be responsible for management of library applications and integration of these within the library web presence, and with other corporate systems. They will provide technical advice to library colleagues in the Academic Engagement team on the effective use of web publishing platforms.

The role holder will work within the Library, a central department which sits within the Academic Quality and Student Experience portfolio providing students and staff with flexible responsive services that underpin teaching, learning and research. This post offers an opportunity to work with a specialist team of functional and technical experts.

- ABOUT YOU -

- Degree or postgraduate qualification in an Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline, or degree and equivalent experience in relevant discipline
- Technical background with demonstrable experience of modern web development to include:
- Use of enterprise CMS
- Use of MS SharePoint
- experience of scripting languages (e.g. php) and relational databases (e.g. mysql)
- working knowledge of languages such as HTML, HTML5, SQL, JSON, XML, Javascript and CSS
- Experience of website management using multiple hosting platforms
